eQHealth Solutions Timeline

Today, eQHealth Solutions employs more than 400 associates and has offices in Louisiana, Florida, Illinois, Mississippi, Colorado, Texas and Vermont. Our clients are a mix of government entities, commercial healthcare payers and providers.

  1. 1986

    Louisiana Health Care Review (LHCR) was formed with a focus on peer-review functions for Louisiana’s Medicare population. In the first year, the company grew from a staff of four to more than 100 employees under CEO, Leo Stanley, and Deputy CEO, Gary Curtis, who together landed a contract to review Medicare cases for beneficiaries within the state of Louisiana for the then Health Care Financing Administration.

  2. 1992

    Began developing data analysis and biostatistics services along with the first edition of our proprietary Peer Utilization Review software (PURs).

  3. 1996

    Received accreditation from the Utilization Review Accreditation Commission (URAC) in utilization management.

  4. 1997

    Awarded the utilization management contract for the State of Mississippi Division of Medicaid, a landmark achievement for the company acquiring the first out-of-the state contract. To this date, we continue to serve the state of Mississippi.

  5. 2002

    Awarded the State of Illinois utilization management contract by the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services.

  6. 2003

    The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) awarded LHCR the Beneficiary Services Award for our Partners in Senior Health program that demonstrated a commitment to cultivating innovative community partnerships by using grass roots resources to promote health and wellness in our communities.

  7. 2005

    Hurricane Katrina devastated southeast Louisiana. Working with MD Technologies, LHCR developed, a resource database for residents and primary care doctors displaced by the storm.

  8. 2006

    Leo Stanley retired from his position as CEO; Gary Curtis was named as his successor.

    The Illinois Department of Health and Family Services awarded the Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Waiver Contract to the company.

  9. 2008

    One of 14 Quality Improvement Organizations in the country to be awarded the three‐year Care Transitions Project by CMS.

  10. 2009

    Changed the organization’s name to eQHealth Solutions, Inc., a name more reflective of our expanded healthcare technology and service offerings.

    Awarded the program grant by CMS for Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) in the state of Louisiana.

  11. 2010

    eQSuite® Technology Solutions was trademarked.

    eQHealth was awarded the Mississippi Regional Extension Center (REC) grant.

  12. 2011

    Medicare utilization management contract for the State of Florida was awarded by the Agency for Healthcare Administration.

  13. 2012

    eQHealth began work supporting Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs).

  14. 2013

    Edie Castello appointed chief executive officer; she served as chief operating officer for five years prior to this appointment.

  15. 2014

    Louisiana State University (LSU) System Health Plan selected eQHealth as their population health and medical management partner.

    eQHealth earned URAC Disease Management accreditation.

  16. 2015

    State of Vermont chose eQHealth for their care management software solution needs. eQHealth took initial steps with Vermont to attain CMS certification for care management, being first in the nation to do so.

    Notice of Award (NOA) received for the state of Colorado’s utilization management contract.

    eQHealth’s SMP program expanded, receiving grants for the states of Mississippi and Florida.

    eQCare® Service Solutions was trademarked.

    AmWins Group Benefits announced launch of Communitas, Inc. and partners with eQHealth Solutions.

  17. 2016

    Glen J. Golemi named eQHealth’s fourth CEO.

    eQHealth’s SMP program expanded further with the addition of the State of Wisconsin.

  18. December 2016

    Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Award

    The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) awarded eQHealth Solutions, Inc. for diligent work, authentic collaboration with patients, clinicians and partners for delivering unprecedented national impact on patient safety in all U.S. hospitals. In total, CMS estimates that eQHealth helped to save 87,000 lives, reduced harmful acts to patients by 2.1 million, and reduced costs by $19.8 billion.

    A Top 20 Leading IT Service Provider

    eQHealth Solutions is named a Top 20 Leading IT Service Provider Award winner in The Technology Headlines publication.

    eQHealth Solutions a Leading Benefactor in the American Heart Association, 2017 Capital Area Heart Walk

    eQHealth Solutions raised nearly $19,000 and ranked as a top corporate fundraiser and sponsor in the American Heart Association (AHA) 2017 Capital Area Heart Walk. eQHealth employees, extended family and friends participated in the AHA Heart Walk on April 8, raising funds to help fight heart disease and stroke.

    Longtime board member, Dr. Leonard Kancher, passes away.

    Dr. Leonard Kancher served on eQHealth’s board of directors for 29 years and as chairman for 23 years. Dr. Kancher was board certified in Family Practice and Internal Medicine. Leonard served eQHealth with great zeal, and as a physician had keen understanding and passion for the company’s work to improve the quality of people’s lives.

    Founding President and CEO, and longtime board member, Leo Stanley passes away.

    Leo’s leadership built the foundation for the organization we are proud to call a leader in population health management today. Under his guidance, the company grew and prospered with the addition of new lines of service and expansion of operations to several states outside of Louisiana. After his retirement as CEO, Leo continued to serve as a company board member and secretary of the corporation until his death.
